The starting price of the Tracer 7 GT has been kept at £10,104 (about ₹ 11.32 lakhs) in Europe, while the standard Tracer 7 is priced at £8,804 (about ₹ 9.86 lakhs). At present, there is no official confirmation about their launch in India, but it is expected that Yamaha can bring it to the Indian market soon.
Engine – Same powerful heart, but in a new style
Tracer 7 uses the same engine that is found in Yamaha’s popular adventure bike Tenere 700. It is a 689cc CP2 parallel-twin engine, which gives 73PS of power and 68Nm of torque. This engine is considered very reliable, agile and perfect for long distance riding.
Tracer 7 is specially designed for on-road touring, while Tenere 700 is more adept at off-roading. That is, if you like to travel long distances on the highway and want a comfortable but powerful bike, then Tracer 7 can be a great option.
Tracer 7 GT – More travel, more convenience
There are only a few differences between both Tracer 7 and GT. In the GT version, the company has provided side panniers (luggage bags) and center stand pre-installed. This makes the bike completely ready for touring straight out of the box. This is especially ideal for those who travel long distances and like to carry more luggage on their bike.
Design – Classic Yamaha styling with a twist
If you look at the bike from a distance, its shape looks the same as before, but as you get closer, the new changes become evident.
The Tracer 7 now gets:

The suspension system of the Tracer 7 has also been updated in some important ways:
- The inverted front forks are now 18-step rebound adjustable
- The rear monoshock now gets a new link and remote preload adjuster
- The braking system now gets radial brake calipers at the front, which are more effective than the earlier axial units

Will this bike come to India?
At present, no official information has been given by Yamaha whether the Tracer 7 will be launched in India or not. But the company has definitely said that it is planning to bring some big bikes to India, including the Tenere 700.
Bringing the Tracer 7 to the Indian market could be a smart move for Yamaha as it already has competitors like the Triumph Tiger Sport 660 and the Kawasaki Versys 650. A Japanese, robust, and reliable middleweight ADV bike will give Indian customers more options.
